Wrist Problems
Wrist is a complex structure of the hand it consist of 8 carpal bone (naming scaphoid,lunate,triquetral,pisiform,trapezium,trapezoid,hemate) , 5 metacarpal & distal ends of radius & ulna articulating with the wrist joint.
There are many disease & injury pattern seen in the wrist joint
Some of them are scaphoid fracture (fresh fracture & scaphoid non-union),proximal pole scaphoid fracture non-union with avascular necrosis (proximal pole AVN), perilunate fracture dislocation, scapholunate ligamentous instability, SLAC wrist, SNAC wrist, kienbock’s disease, presiers disease, ganglionic cyst etc.

Scaphoid non union treated by open reduction internal fixation & bone grafting.
Kienbock’s disease-its a disorder of lunate bone in which blood supply to lunate is disrupted resulting into its avascular necrosis. Patient complains of pain & limitation of wrist motion .various surgical procedure has been advised for this depending upon severity of symptoms & staging of the disease .the procedures are proximal row carpectomy, limited carpal fusion (STT fusion, SC fusion),revascularisation, radial shortening etc.
A case of kienbock’s disease treated by STT (scapho-trapezium-trapezoid) fusion.
